Year 6 SATs exams are held during May of each year. This is a compulsory exam for children aged between 10 and 11 as part of the National Curriculum Assessment Programme. Children sit for SATs exam after they have taken the 11 Plus entrance exam or the Private School Entrance Exam.
From 2016 the SATs exams are taking a new style and more rigorous to reflect the new National Curriculum. The New SATs English Test includes reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar. The New SATs Maths Test include arithmetic, mathematical fluency, solving problems and reasoning.
ark Year 6 SATs programme has developed to reflect the new National Curriculum and structured to enable children to prepare for the SATs programme addressing each paper.

Mathematics: Arithmetic. Prepare Children for Paper 1. Children will learn and improve;
Mathematics: Reasoning.Prepare Children for Paper 2 and 3. Children will learn and improve;
Children will learn problem solving in context and practice worded questions which involve above topics. Children will effectively use their Arithmetic and Reasoning knowledge in context.
English: Comprehension. Children will be taught how to read and understand the structure, meaning and purpose of a passage of text.
English: Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation. Children will learn and improve;
Focuses on Mathematics and English. Classes are held once a week for one hour.
