11 Plus In-Centre or Online Tuition from Year 5

Ark 11 Plus In-Centre or Online Tuition from Year 5 is more rigorous and intense preparing children for the entrance exam held at the end of the Year 5. This Programme is suitable for children looking to prepare for Redbridge 11 Plus, Essex 11 Plus, Kent 11 Plus Hertfordshire-Barnet 11 Plus and for Enfield 11 Plus entrance exams. It is for the Year 5 children aged 9 to 10 years. The Programme runs for 2 hours a week until March of the Academic Year and then converts to Intensive 11 Plus in which children will attend for 4 hours a week. However parents have the choice of sending their children for the 4 hour programme or to remain with the 2 hour programme. Year 5 11 Plus Tuition is designed as such giving the flexibility to parents and children so that it helps to achieve the best individual requirement.

In line with the Maths and English National Curriculum requirements Ark 11 Plus Tuition continue to improve children’s Maths and English with Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. During the Intensive Programme weeks children will start practicing past papers. The Mock exam series further helps to build their confidence.

In addition there are parents evening during the mid Academic Year in which parents have the opportunity to get further information on 11 Plus exams, registration process and open evenings of schools.

Year 5 Maths Online Tuition

Year 5 Maths Tuition uses the upper key stage 2 curriculum indicators and this programme includes, but not limited to number and place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions (including decimals), Measurement, Geometry – properties of shapes, Geometry – position and direction and statistics. In addition they will be further improving their non verbal skills attempting to solve more challenging problems.

Year 5 English Online Tuition

Year 5 English Tuition uses the upper key stage 2 curriculum indicators and this programme covers, word reading, comprehension which includes listening to and discussing a wide range of fiction, poetry, plays, non-fiction and reference books or textbooks, transcription, composition, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation. In addition children will be attempting advance verbal reasoning questions. Furthermore we continue to emphasis on legibility, consistency and quality of handwriting. Children are encouraged to use joined handwriting throughout their independent writing. Handwriting is taught with the aim of increasing the fluency with which children are able to write down what they want to say. This, in turn, will support their composition and spelling.
