11 Plus In-Centre or Online Tuition from Year 4

At Ark, 11 Plus In-Centre or Online Tuition for Year 4 is in line with the Maths and English National Curriculum requirements and lays a solid foundation for 11 Plus exam further improving child's general Maths and English. In addition to Maths and English, children learn and improve their Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. The programme is for the Year 4 children aged 8 to 9 years. Starting from September Year 4 tuition will run for elevan months. Children will prepare themselves for year 5 11 Plus during the following August and in September will move to the Year 5 11 Plus tuition which is much more vigorous and intense in preparation for the exams in following September.

Year 4 Maths Online Tuition

Year 4 Maths Tuition includes, but not limited to number and place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions (including decimals), Measurement, Geometry – properties of shapes, Geometry – position and direction and statistics. Ark Year 4 programme follows the guidance and indicators provided by the National Curriculum in delivering the programme. In addition to Maths children will also be learning and improving non verbal reasoning skills at year 4.

Year 4 English Online Tuition

Year 4 English Tuition covers, word reading, comprehension which includes listening to and discussing a wide range of fiction, poetry, plays, non-fiction and reference books or textbooks, transcription, composition, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation. In addition, we also emphasis on legibility, consistency and quality of handwriting. Children are encouraged to use joined handwriting throughout their independent writing. Handwriting is taught with the aim of increasing the fluency with which children are able to write down what they want to say. This, in turn, will support their composition and spelling.
